Business meeting
January 13 of the year 2004 of the Common Era

Officer Reports

Seneschal:
• Wavier report is done for December
• Working on quarterly kingdom report
• Boredom War paperwork is done. Deposit will be place this week with site.
• While seneschal is on CRUISE Lady Eleanor will monitor emails, etc.

Exchequer:
• Write up for policies is about half done. Policies are being re-vamped.
• Financials up to date and reconciled.
• Has only received 1 page of year end report. It will be re-sent.
• Urgent request for deputy exchequer. There is a possibility of the exchequer office holder having to move suddenly.

Herald:
• Damiean’s name to be submitted for approval.
• Antonio is the deputy herald, in case herald has to deploy to Iraq.

Knight Marshal
• Not present

Marshal of Fence
• Practice will be held on Friday the 16th of January. This will be the only Friday practice for the month.
• Antonio has made 2 bucklers for the Shire’s loaner equipment.

Mistress of Arts and Science:
• Queen’s Box for June, accepting ideas for items. Looking for people to embroider Princess Favors.
Lady Meadhbh is making beaded flowers.
• A request was made for the shire to pay gas expenses for a Dance teacher. Was discussed and accepted. The teacher may teach Medieval European court dance.

Historian:
• Not present

Acting Chancellor Minor:
• Nothing to report. Position is available.

Web Minister:
• Old Web mistress not present. Acting (soon to be new) Webmaster present.
• Newbie camping article is available from the herald.

Old business:

Wrap-up meeting for policies and procedures will soon be held. The results will be posted for populace approval.

The Middle Eastern Hafla was a great success, with 50-60 people present. This was a free event, with no expense to Shire. Nine classes had more than 15 people. There are requests for us to present it again.
The grand finale was very well received.
Many guests helped with the clean up.
A good time was had by all!

East Kingdom 12th Night: 3 Shire members got awards, (Shannoc, Faolan and Harald)
A gift of traveling thrones was presented to Their Majesties, by Lord Duncan Kerr.

New Business:
Sophia approved as Chatelaine.
Damaiean (hey, that’s me!) was approved as Chronicler.
Antonio DiRenzo was approved as the new Webmaster.

A proposal was made to hold a Shire Revel, as the last one was well received. Tuesday or Sunday were discussed as possible days. A call is out for someone to be the email contact to co-ordinate the food.

Boredom War: Ideas for mini-catapults were discussed. A mini-catapult contest was approved by the autocrat. East Kingdom Siege Weapons will be added to fighting this year.

Names for armies were proposed: Flora and Fauna. No comment.

There is a one year only change in the weekend Boredom War is held. This year it coincides with Mothers’ Day. Some ideas were discussed to honor Mothers’ Day.

There will be a pot luck on Friday before Boredom War

Shire-level awards were discussed for Boredom War.

Regional fighter practice will be held on Sunday the 25th.

At events, we will need to get each SCA member’s membership number as they sign in. This is a new Kingdom policy. The wavier for non-members will be in the form of a roster.
