There are still connection difficulties. We will also be adding a Deputy Web person.

Many People expressed appreciation for our help and the food was good.
A Very good public relations event for the Shire

New Business:
The Shire is now accepting Letters of Intent for the position of Exchequer(See above)

Carolingia is putting in a bid to use the Bolton Site, which is in Quintavian territory, for The Coronation
Motion Damian moved to Accept the bid, Alan Seconded the Motion. It passed unanimously

Lady Eleanor Submitted a bid form for Les Jeux.
The Estimate is that 70 Adults and 10 Children will be there.
There will be no day board, and the fee has been increased to $10 for adults
The expense estimate is that it'll cost around $650.
There were several question that Lady Isabel will pass on to Lady Eleanor about the bid

Motion: Elisheva moved to approve the budget. Alan seconded. The motion passed.
There was some discussion of when to host the East Kingdom University. It could be January, February, or March.
Lady Isabel is coordinating for the Central Region and is leaning towards a March date. There’s a possibility we can use the Middle school at Oxford.
Mistress Elisheva pointed out that the 9th grade curriculum usually includes medieval studies, so it might help to have a “student” track, in order to convince the school system that this is a good idea.

As far as a new canopy is concerned, we’ve gotten quotes on canvas covers.
Sir Kai has offered to make the set-up kit, which would save some cost and some shipping cost.
Canvas is harder to set up than the easy-ups, so there will have to be personnel willing to participate in setup and breakdown for events.

On July 31st, Mistress Susana is offering to teach banner making. Details will be posted on this Web site. It will be at her home from 1:00 until it is finished.

On August first, Sir Kai will be at Millbury, so anyone interested in heavy-list fighting please join us.

Lady Isabel received a call from a past member of the Shire, Terry Schwartz. We have been offered a pop-up camper; it is a trailer that is towed behind a vehicle.
It would need to be registered with the Registry of Motor Vehicles. It’s too big for the storage unit, so someone would have to be responsible for it.
A vote will be taken at a future meeting as to whether we want to accept this offer.
Terry is also a lifetime member of the Hamilton Rod and Gun club, and feels it should be considered for events in Quintavia.
There was some discussion about moving the Boredom War there, but the consensus seems to be that we’ll keep it at the location in Oxford, the last event was very promising
and the site was well liked by the attendees. However, the autocrat would make a final decision and put in a bid. Lady Isabel reminded the Shire that a Boredom War bid should be put in by Oct 1st.

Helen has a potential site for Archery in Webster. We will have an Archery Marshall check out the site and report back. Helen is also interested in being the Archery Assistant –
the person responsible for storing and setting up the targets, etc.

Faolan is planning a post-Pennsic meeting at the end of August. The attendees will send out for lunch. There will be some fighter practice available.
If there is interest in expanding it, it could become an event in the future.

The Shire needs some wooden SCA direction signs with arrows for use in future events, we have lost several of the signs we had and they are old.
We are looking for someone to estimate the cost (wood, paint, etc) of the signs. It could be a project for a Sunday meeting.
