• Question – do we want to seek another venue?
• Fridays are limited due to limited availability of the site we use.
• We are negotiating for use of another indoor site.
• Fighters liked Boredom War in general, there were muddy areas in the woods.
• Suggestion to add a third bridge next time.
• Next year we’ll send a team to clean up the woods ahead of time.

Marshal of Fence
Fencing went well, all participants enjoyed the event.
• There were about 20 fencers

Marshal of Siege Weapons
Boredom War children’s activities had about 12 children present
• The siege class had about 14 people who got certified.
• Has offered to run another class.
• June 12th there will be a siege event, Harold was invited by Lord Graywolf to Participate.

Mistress of Arts and Science:
Keeper awards were given out at Boredom War.
• Proposed making a keeper award for Thrown Weapons.
• Keeper awards were discussed, found to be generally useful for inspiring people to contribute, recognition goes a long way to help.
• Lady Eleanor showed the recipients their scrolls with competed artwork. Beautiful!
• Tokens and scrolls will be done soon, just the calligraphy remains.
• Awards were as follows:
Faolan - Keeper of the Lantern (Service)
Alan - Keeper of the Rapier (Fencing)
Harold - Keeper of the Torse (Siege Marshal)
Meadhbh - Keeper of the Cup (for Arts and Science)
The Keeper of the Arrow was not given this year or last year.

• Eleanor will post these to the list.
• A Bard was chosen

Historian:
• There are plans to set up journals of various sites.
• Looking for a new person to act as deputy, a good starter position. For information, see Meadhbh.

Minister of Youth (Acting):
• We are still looking for a permanent Minister of Youth. It is a good position for a newcomer who likes children.
• This is not a babysitting position.
• There is the possibility of a boffer demo Sunday the 16th.

Web Minister:
• Antonio is still acting as Webmaster. Dhawnti is not present. The passwords will be set up as soon as possible.

Chronicler:
• Photos of Boredom War are posted on a personally owned Web site, not an official SCA site. Photos can be found at http://www.digitaldarkroomdoctor.com/Private/SCA/BWXVIII/

Old business:

Suggestions for next year’s Boredom War should be written down and submitted. They will be compiled for the next Autocrat, so the information is available and in one place.
Most of the difficulties we had were from understaffing, and the fact that it is a new site.

Important facts are that no-one can sleep in the building at night, and we could possibly have the original date we used to use in the new site next year.

The club manager was very accommodating.

Their Highnesses were there, and were very gracious. They judged the Baric competition.

Lord Graywolf, the East Kingdom Siege Marshall, complimented us on the event.

Poison Pen Press gifted the Shire with a lovely Children’s book in thanks for letting her set up in the hall and use some tables.

Phlip is willing to demo smithing at future Boredom Wars.

The stained glass windows were given to the East Kingdom, which will pick them up.
Possible recap (debriefing) meeting will be held in the future. (Meeting on May 25th to go over suggestions.)

New Business:
The next event is in September, Les Jeux. Anton and Eleanor will check out a new potential site, which has its own food concession. Event bid must be presented to the Shire asap.

General discussion of the event:

Should we add hawks and hounds in addition to horses.

A discussion of whether to allow pets (that aren’t participating in the event) to attend. One possibility is to require muzzles on all dogs. Owners must be responsible for their own animals. This is a legal issue.

Suggestion that the site fee should be increased from $8.00 to $10.00.

Lord Faolan had put in his Letter of Intent to become the next Herald last month. Meadhbh proposed a motion to accept him as the new Herald and Alan seconded, passed unanimously.

The East Kingdom Academy of Rapier will be held June 27th. Yvonne filled the empty volunteer spot. Thanks, Yvonne!

For the Post Pennsic debriefing, all that is needed is a day board.

On Thursday the 27th, Sir Michael of York will be brewing his Ser Michael’s Mead. He has offered to teach here.
